Taylor Swift Speak Now Album and Tour - Associated Content

Around the world, girls AND guys are probably going a little insane. I'll admit, I'm one of them. Taylor's latest album Speak Now is, in my humble opinion, her best yet! She's growing up and her style is  getting a little more grown up too. Speak Now was released worldwide on October 25, 2010 and sold more than 1,046,000 copies in its first week! In case you didn't know, it's kind of a big deal. It was the biggest debut EVER for a country studio album. She's starting her tour in Asia, then heading to Europe before finally finishing off in the U.S. This tour is going to last for almost a year! How crazy is that? It's a good thing she loves what she does! Can't wait for her to come to my hometown!

13 Facts About Taylor and her Latest Album!
1. She wrote every single song on her new album by herself.
2. The penthouse she purchased in Nashville earlier this year features a giant pond and a people-sized birdcage!
3. Speak Now was originally going to be called Enchanted, but was changed after Taylor had a talk with Big Machine president/CEO Scott Borchetta, who told Taylor, "this record isn't about fairy tales and high school anymore. That's not where you're at. I don't think the album should be called 'Enchanted.'"
4. Speak Now debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200.
5. Taylor put hidden messages into each of her songs so her fans could find out who the songs were written about or what the songs meant to her.
6. Her birth name is Taylor Alison Swift and she was born on December 13, 1989.
7. Taylor is 5'11''. Lucky girl!
8.Taylor estimated that 60 percent of her album was completed in the basement of her producer, Nathan Chapman.
9. She shot the video "Mine" in Maine.
10. Her tour began in Singapore and will end in Lexington, Kentucky on October 29.
11. Taylor says her songs on this album are like open letters. She's telling people now what she wished she had said when they were standing right in front of her.
12. She grew up on a Christmas tree farm in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania.
13. Her lucky number is....13.

Taylor Swift Album Set for Best Sales Week of Year - ABC News

LOS ANGELES (Billboard) - Taylor Swift's third album, released worldwide on Monday, is on track to score the biggest opening week of the year in the United States and could even hit one million copies, industry prognosticators said.

For now, the consensus has "Speak Now" selling between 800,000 to 900,000 copies by week's end on October 31. Depending on how quickly it flies out the doors during its first few days, the forecast could move toward one million.

So far the best sales week of the year belongs to Eminem's "Recovery," which arrived at No. 1 with 741,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The last album to sell one million copies in one week was Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter III," which started its run with 1,006,000 units in June 2008.

"Speak Now's" sales must be music to the industry's ears, after many superstar album releases this year have failed to meet or exceed first-week expectations. Her last album, "Fearless," started at No. 1 with 592,000 in November 2008 and has sold 6 million copies to date.

Selena Gomez Talks New Album, Taylor Swift - The Gossip Girls

It’s a big week for Selena Gomez - tomorrow (September 21) she releases her new album A Year Without Rain, and she already has Taylor Swift's stamp of approval.
The “Wizards of Waverly Place” babe told press, “It was so funny, I got to see her and we played each other both of our records, and I was so excited. I'm so excited for her record 'cause it's amazing. But then she heard mine and it's so funny 'cause she's very passionate and she's very dramatic — which I think is why we're friends because we're both dramatic — but she has her favorites already."
Selena continued, "She likes 'Rock God and 'Ghost of You' a lot. But she definitely danced and had her little thing. She's completely honest with me, so it was nice to have her feedback."
As for Taylor’s new album Speak Now, Gomez gushed, "Her album is going to be awesome. I think people are gonna be really surprised. It's not different [but] you just don't really believe she could top it, in a way. She took her style and made it bigger. It's going to be really good."
